Coach Halicki, and a good one at that, was my history teacher at Hanover High School. Coming from a poor family of eight and after my father, who was a coal miner, died when I was in the sixth grade, I began working as a caddy at Wyoming Valley Country Club and Mr. Halicki would excuse me on Wednesday afternoons to caddy. It would cost me a few golf balls that I had found. Reading about his football and baseball exploits he was some kind of athlete. Great story and I really enjoyed it being a former sportswriter. Thanks Matt Bafano for alerting me of the story. John Zimich
